We youngsters are going to crowdfund our project to secure the "Future Menu". As human activities around the globe are destroying the precious resources. We had started our pilot project of Agricofarms to promote sustainability. Secure your future. Ask Me Anything

The world's population has been increasing faster than food production, even with modern technology. The world population is estimated to be 9 billion by 2050. How can we meet the food demand of such population? So, secure your future.

Under nutrition statistics

An estimated 2 billion people suffer from under nutrition – a lack of access to key micronutrients – resulting in major health risks. (IFAD/FAO/WFP (2011) ‘The State of FoodInsecurity in the World.’ FAO, Rome, 2011.)

The food security is now the bigger challenge to the humanity. The reason behind this are our activities like urbanization (on fertile land), over exploiting resources, lack of agricultural technology & techniques, lack of awareness, unsustainability in production and adulteration.

Food Security

Remedies:

Our team has selected few most important areas of innovation, as follows

  1. Sustainable agriculture
  2. Sustainable farming
  3. Securing agricultural land
  4. Encountering adulteration
  5. Ostrich Farming

Areas of Innovation

We had decided to start with sustainable farming and encountering the adulteration. So, our team put hands in Dairy Farm project as Agricofarms. As the world is already facing the problem of under nutrition and now the problem of adulteration to the food items specially adulteration of milk is alarming. Milk which is not only the food of adults but also a necessary food product for infants is now no more pure. In Pakistan 80% of the total milk sold in packages or in bulk is being adulterated (milk is adulterated with formalin, caustic soda, urea, vegetable oil, starch) causing too many health issues.

Adulterants

We have been planning to set up a sustainable farm and our own supply chain to ensure the availablity of 100% pure milk. We need you to join hands with us and support us and be a part of our casue of food security by spreading our word for our upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

Our team has a vision of contributing our part in global food security by bringing innovation in those above mentioned areas of innovation, starting with sustainable dairy farms and encountring adulteration.

Don’t sit on the side lines. Do you want to get involved in shaping the future?

"The future is not what will happen, it is what we will do about it."

How are cows in Agricofarm-sheds grown and milked hygeinically?

Jul 10, 4:43PM EDT0

We had sorted the following set of precautions to ensure hygeinic milk production

  • The animal should be washed before milking.
  • Teat dipping should be performed before milking
  • Hands of the milker should be clean and dry. Wet hand milking may result in high bacterial count in the milk.
  • Nails of hands of the milker should be well trimmed.
  • Milker should be free from diseases.
  • Dusty feed like rice polish should not be fed to the animal at the time of milking.
  • Milking barns should be well ventilated and free from flies.
  • Utensils used for milking should be clean, stanitized, smooth and copper free.
  • Flavour producing feeds should be fed only after milking so that flavours will not appear in milk.
  • Milk should be kept in cool place to maintain the flavour and keeping quality.
  • Milk should be covered with lids to avoid dust dirt,  hot, or cold, day light or strong artificial light to decrease milk quality. Raw milk with not exceeding 2,00,000 specific count in one ml of milk can be graded as very good raw milk.

In what all ways is Agricofarms fighting against milk adulteration?

Jul 10, 3:09AM EDT16

The presence of Agricofarms' product in the marlet is itself a competition for other producers, which will derive them automatically towards the production and distribution of pure milk.

We advertise and educate the community about the factors causing adulteration. If people have the oppertunity of pure milk (Agrico's product), they will definitely move towards us, and bycot those causing and supplying adulterated milk.

In this way we can make a big shift.

Thank you.

What is the greatest reward of working on this project?

Jul 10, 1:04AM EDT0

The greatest reward of supporting and working on this project is to save the future. Future is what, we are doing now. If u put a seed of apple in the ground you can have an apple tree in the future and if grow a baby plant of cactus, you will have cactus in the future.

So, the most important is what you are doing right now, and how you are treating your future.

AS mentione above Agricofarms is the part of broader scenario of global food security. If someone is supporting us, that person isn't only supporting the farm or some kind of project, that person is actually ionvesting in his/her future, securing their future food.

We are starting from Agricofarms (dairy) then after the successful running we will move towards other areas of innovation which have already been mentioned above.

By innovating those areas we can not only ensure the security but also we can create an oppertunity of jobs for too many people.

Thank You

Jul 9, 8:39PM EDT0

We are starting our pilot project from 100 units of livestock, for which two outlets are enough. We had planned to double the herd in a year.

Futher more, as per our plan of extension by 2020, we will be stable enough to replicate the modle at different areas to bring change in the market.

How can common man test the purity of milk?

Jul 9, 8:20PM EDT18

Following tests can be made at home to identify the adulterants

Water – The presence of water can be detected by putting a drop of milk on a polished slanting surface. The drop of pure milk flows slowly leaving a white trail behind it, whereas milk adulterated with water will flow immediately without leaving a mark.

Starch – Add a few drops of Iodine solution to few ml of milk. If the mixture forms blue colour, it’s a indication that milk is adulterated with Starch.

Urea – Take a teaspoon of milk in a test tube. Add half teaspoon of soybean or arhar powder. Mix up the contents throughly by shaking the test tube. After 5 mins, dip a red litmus paper after half a minute. A change in colour from red to blue indicates the presence of Urea in milk.

Detergent – Shake 5-10 ml of sample with an equal amount of water. Formation of lather indicates the presence of detergent.

Synthetic Milk – Synthetic milk has a bitter taste, gives a soapy feeling on rubbing between the fingers and turns yellowish on heating.

Why is Agricofarm produced milk said to be purely organic?

Jul 9, 7:15PM EDT24

livestock used to produce organic milk must be maintained using the methods of organic farming (which relies on fertilizers of organic origin)

The feed we will use at our farm will be organic, hormone and supplement free. So, the milk produced in trun will be organic

Which all modern technology tests are conducted by Agricofarms to analyse the quality of milk?

Jul 9, 3:55PM EDT29

We will establish a lab at our form to perform all the recomended quality control tests.

Despite all the tests we had established the following recomendations for Hygienic Milk Production:

  • The animal should be washed before milking.
  • Teat dipping should be performed before milking
  • Hands of the milker should be clean and dry. Wet hand milking may result in high bacterial count in the milk.
  • Nails of hands of the milker should be well trimmed.

What is the 'Menu of Future' concept of Agricofarms?

Jul 9, 2:50PM EDT13

Agricofarms is the subsidiary of a big scenario which revolve around the 'Menu of Future'

'Menu of Future' is basically totally about 2040. researchers are worried about the inreasing population and thier food demand. By 2030 the worlds population is expected to reach 9 billion. How can we meet the food demand of such big number? If everything is going as it is now. We are exploiting the resources, Do you know? 90.1% of global fish stockswere fully or over exploited in2011. Fish and seafood are a critical sourceof protein for 3 billion people, but the ocean’s supply has reached its limit.  Farmed fish is likely to make up the gap and is predicted to represent 2/3 of global supply by 2030, but it is fast reaching its limit as well. Farmed fish is heavily dependenton wild caught fish for feed(fishmeal). I am quoting this to make it cler to you that our menu of future is in danger. This is only the story of fish. But what about the existing land resources. The urbanization is engulfing the agricultural land, global warming, increasing population etc. And on this and additional issue of adulteration.

So, we decided to come forward and put our part to encounter the situation, because future depends upon present. If present is significantly good then future would be also. We finalized few areas of innovation. We will work on all of them, but starting from Agricofarms

So come join us and suport our campaign, follow our social media pages FacebookInstagramPinterestTwitter and Google+
