What is the basic structure for developing a game?

Nov 10, 10:46AM EST0 Reply

1) Planning. Create a detailed description of the game with all its elements.

2) Early development. Creating a "layout" of the game with a worked out functional. (usually a game with minimal visual effects, at this stage the mechanics of the game will be played out)

3) Full development. Creating a full-fledged working version with all visual effects.

4) Testing. Search for errors in the game and their elimination, optimization and final setup.

5) Publish the game. Troubleshooting based on user feedback.

What is “Pixel Art”?

Nov 9, 1:30AM EST0 Reply

Pixel art is a form of digital art, created through the use of software, where images are edited on the pixel level. The majority of graphics for 8-bit and 16-bit computers and video game consoles, as well as other limited systems like graphing calculators, is pixel art.

What is a ContentProvider and what is it typically used for?

Nov 8, 10:01AM EST0 Reply

The content provider is the shell in which the data is embedded. If your application uses a SQLite database, only your application has access to it. But there are situations when it is desirable to make the data common. The content provider is only used when you want to share data with other applications running on the device. But even if you do not plan to share data now, you can still think about implementing this method just in case.

You can use Intent for a wide range of tasks, but it is most often used to invoke another Activation or Service.

What tools do App Dev novices should have at hand?

Nov 6, 6:14AM EST0 Reply

It all depends on what they are going to do. If this is a game, then it is necessary to work in Unity3D, a graphics editor or in photoshop (for example, Gimp or Adobe Photoshop) and in a programming environment (I would advise Visual Studio 2017). If this is not a game, it will require an Android Studio in it has all the necessary minimum. Of course it is not possible to develop without the knowledge of programming.

Very much depends on the scope of the project.

How can educators and universities get involved in game development?

Nov 4, 2:38AM EDT0 Reply

It is difficult to answer this question, except that some specialized courses on developing games can help. If course if the university learn programming, It will positively affect the development.

Would you say that perhaps people need to see your idea from a new or different perspective?

Nov 3, 8:04PM EDT0 Reply

Perhaps I'm trying to convey the idea of the game as something new and not just another boring game.

How difficult it is to raise funds through crowdfunding sites compared to traditional fundraisers?

Nov 3, 11:53AM EDT0 Reply

Crowdfunding doesn't know boundaries, whereas traditional fundraising does.As crowdfunding is taking place online, people from various parts of the World have the chance to look and understand the importance of your cause. With just one click of a button, they can donate any amount as much as they're willing to and take your campaign closer to its set target.

Traditional fundraising can prove useful for a long term goal. But, traditional fundraising is mostly done by non-profits and can prove to be difficult to execute for individuals.

Nov 3, 2:38PM EDT0 Reply

How long do you think it would take for this crowdfunding campaign to attain the goals you have?

Nov 3, 11:13AM EDT0 Reply

I began to promote my company ten days ago and I think that it will reach the goal in the best case in a month there may be more.

What is difference between Serializable and Parcelable ? Which is best approach in Android ?

Nov 3, 11:09AM EDT0 Reply

Parcelable works faster, much, that's why it's added to android and is widely used in the exchange of information between processes. Parcelable should be used for short-term data storage, since the android does not guarantee backward compatibility and the packing algorithm may change. Therefore, for example. You can not use Parcelable to exchange data between an anroid devices or to store the parcels in the database to unpack them sometime in the future.

Serializable is a standard Java interface. You can simply implement the Serializable interface and add override methods. The problem with this approach is that reflection is used, and this is a slow process. This method creates many temporary objects and causes a lot of garbage collection. The Serializable interface is easier to implement.

What do you think is the best strategy to market your app?

Nov 3, 10:25AM EDT0 Reply

The best strategy for my game is: free to play with unobtrusive advertising for viewing which the player receives a reward and also internal purchases that give the player a slight advantage in another case it is comfortable to play without donations it would not be possible.

What advice would you give to anyone else looking to create their first crowdfunding project?

Nov 3, 4:44AM EDT0 Reply

I would advise to take this as seriously as possible (prepare a detailed description of the idea of the project and also indicate what exactly the money will go). Be as open as possible with investors and be patient :)

Nov 3, 3:06PM EDT0 Reply

What are the best online platforms to look for App Development jobs?

Nov 3, 4:03AM EDT0 Reply

Personally, I would advise Upwork

Generally there are many freelancing platforms; Toptal, Elance, Freelancer or Craigslist.

Nov 3, 3:10PM EDT0 Reply

How can you reduce game lag?

Nov 2, 11:34AM EDT0 Reply

I develop the game using the platform of Unity3D in which there are built-in tools for monitoring performance and determining vulnerabilities in scripts or shaders.

Nov 2, 1:36PM EDT0 Reply

Do you face any potential liability from users of your app?

Nov 2, 7:30AM EDT0 Reply

No, because this is my first public mobile app

Nov 2, 1:23PM EDT0 Reply

What got you interested in the field of creating mobile apps?

Nov 2, 2:54AM EDT0 Reply

I for a long time taught programming and development programs and when choosing a platform as the main direction, I stopped at the mobile because today most people throughout the day are more likely to use the phone for no one is not a secret that this indicator is constantly increasing and the mobile applications market is developing rapidly.

These factors influenced my choice.

What's the hardest thing in developing your own app?

Nov 2, 12:09AM EDT0 Reply

I think that for me the most difficult thing to develop is a game schedule.

I want my game to look as attractive as possible so I pay due attention to optimizing the animation and textures in the game.
